The baby chinchompa is a skilling pet that can be obtained while catching any kind of chinchompa. The chances of getting it are dependent on the player's Hunter level. Players can right click "Metamorphosis" to change its colours between grey, black, and red. In addition, there is a 1/10,000 chance that it will metamorphose into a golden colour.

It should be noted that if players store the baby chinchompa in a menagerie, the game does not track which colour the pet is. Thus, if a gold chinchompa is stored, it may turn into another colour when taken out.

On death, if a player loses their pet (as a follower or in your inventory) it will wander around for 30 seconds before disappearing completely.

Players can pay a one-time fee of 500,000 coins to Probita in East Ardougne to have this pet insured. Should the pet be lost while insured, it can be reclaimed for 1,000,000 coins.

Drop ratesEdit

Shown below are the base chances of receiving a baby chinchompa[1].

A player's actual chances of receiving it is 1 in B - (Lvl * 25), where B is the base chance and Lvl is the player's Hunter level.

Chinchompa Base chance
Grey chinchompas 131,395
Red chinchompas 98,373
Black chinchompas 82,758

DialogueEdit

  • When coloured black, grey, or red:
    • Baby chinchompa: Squeak squeak!
  • When coloured golden:
    • Baby chinchompa: Squeaka squeaka!

Trivia Edit

  • The dialogue of the Baby chinchompa when coloured golden is a reference to the popular TV show and video game, Pokemon; specifically the character 'Pikachu'.
