Bandos boots detail

Bandos boots are part of the Bandos armour set, which requires 65 Defence to wear. They are dropped by General Graardor and his sergeants in the God Wars Dungeon. It has the second strongest melee defence and highest ranged defence for boots, and is one of very few pairs of boots that have a prayer bonus, among White boots, Holy sandals, and Blessed boots.

Bandos boots are often considered "odd one out" of the Bandos armour set as the chestplate and tassets sacrifice melee defence (albeit a small amount) to give strength bonus while the boots do not. This is the reason why most players, even while wearing a Bandos chestplate and Bandos tassets, will usually wear Dragon boots or Primordial boots instead because they give a +4 or +5 strength bonus respectively for a negligible loss in defence (in the case of dragon boots) while also having fewer negative bonuses. This is probably also the reason why the price of Bandos boots is relatively cheap compared to other Bandos armour. Players commonly use Dragon boots instead of Bandos boots in other armour set ups as well. Because of this, full Bandos commonly refers to the Bandos chestplate and Bandos tassets and not the boots, because the frequency of using them is very low.

They are commonly used for protection against Bandos followers; wearing these boots will render followers of Bandos unaggressive to the wearer in the God Wars Dungeon.

On the 16th of April 2014 it was polled that a +20 ranged defence bonus be added to Bandos boots, and this poll failed by only 33 votes, getting 74.8% yes votes instead of the 75% needed. It was re-polled with a +15 ranged defence bonus instead, and passed.

  • Bandos boots are one of the very few pairs of boots to provide ranged defence in Old School RuneScape. Because of this, they can be very useful in situations where maximum range defense is required, like when tanking General Graardor.
