The Dragon warhammer is a warhammer that requires an Attack level of 60 to wield and is currently the best warhammer available in Old School RuneScape. It is obtained from Lizardmen shamans west of the Lizardman Canyon. The ring of wealth does not increase the chance of getting a dragon warhammer.
The special attack costs 50% special attack energy and deals 50% additional damage, which will lower the target's current defence level by 30% on a successful hit. Defence level reductions do stack over multiple successful hits; each reduction is calculated from the current temporary level (so follow-up drains reduce fewer levels). The dragon warhammer's special attack does not lower offensive stats even if the opponents defence is zero. An effective method is having the majority of players use the dragon warhammer and having one player use a Bandos godsword to drain the defence to zero and lower the boss's offensive stats slightly.
Similar to the Bandos godsword's special attack, the dragon warhammer's special attack is effective at bosses with high defence such as General Graardor and the Corporeal Beast.
As of an update on 24 March 2016, the dragon warhammer can be used as a substitute for a regular hammer when banging the big door at the entrance of Bandos' Stronghold in the God Wars Dungeon.
