Harpie Bug Swarms are a mid-level slayer monster that require a Slayer level of 33 to kill. Unlike the swarm random event, harpie bug swarms shouldn't prove too much of a problem to hit with a decent slashing weapon such as the popular rune scimitar. Be wary though that this monster has a very high accuracy rate, and will hit often for up to 6 damage, hitting very often even players wearing full rune and defence level over 50. Because of this, it is advisable to bring food. Players need a lit bug lantern (buyable from any slayer master), which requires a Firemaking level of 33 to light (unlit will not work).

Trivia
- Upon a successful hit on a harpie bug swarm, a splash of green liquid will appear under the hitsplat and fall downwards. This is most likely a reference to the idea that bugs have green blood when killed.
