The Mithril axe is an axe stronger than the black axe, and weaker than the adamant axe. Like all Mithril weapons, it requires 20 attack to wield (although you don't have to wield it to chop trees with it). It can be used in combat or in Woodcutting to cut trees. To cut a tree with this axe, a player must have 21 Woodcutting. A player with 51 Smithing can make it using 1 mithril bar on an anvil while carrying a hammer, granting 50 Smithing experience. Mithril axes are also occasionally dropped by Terror Dogs, green dragons, blue dragons, black dragons, basilisks, kurasks, cave horrors, turoths, Kalphite Guardians, Mutated Bloodvelds and tree spirits.
A mithril axe is required in the Animal Magnetism quest, in which it is combined with a holy symbol and becomes a blessed axe.
The axe can be bought from Perry's Chop-chop Shop for 1,664 gold.
