There are two sawmills currently in the game. One is just south of the Varrock Lumber Yard with the Saw mill icon icon on the minimap. And the second is in the Woodcutting Guild. The sawmill in the Woodcutting Guild requires 75% Hosidius House favour, this sawmill is closer to the bank than the one near the Lumber Yard.

The sawmill operator can turn four kinds of logs into planks (for a fee - see below), and also sells bolts of cloth, three kinds of nails, and saws.

Players can obtain planks by taking logs to the sawmill operator. Right-click on this NPC, and there will be a "Buy planks" option. Players can then choose whether to make regular planks, oak planks, teak planks, or mahogany planks - provided, of course, that they have the requisite logs (cannot be noted) and enough coins.

The sawmill operator has very few nails, but a lot of bolts of cloth, usually in the thousands.

A popular method to efficiently make logs or oak logs is obtaining a full inventory of logs, turning them into planks and then filling a looting bag with the planks and obtaining a new inventory to turn into planks, allowing an extra 25 logs per trip.

Using the Sawmill in the Woodcutting Guild, the player can make a full load of planks in 20 seconds by using a charged skills necklace and ring of dueling.
