Tears of Guthix is a short minigame, playable once a week. The player must have completed the Tears of Guthix quest and gained a minimum of 100,000 total experience or one Quest Point since the last time they played the minigame. The fastest way to get to the minigame is by teleporting with a Games necklace.
Playing the GameEdit
To play the minigame, a player must go to the Lumbridge Swamp Caves and tell a story to the snake Juna who is the guardian of the Guthix tears. Then, collect the blue tears flowing from a wall, while avoiding collecting the green tears, as these decrease your overall tear count. The locations of the tears changes randomly.
Tip: Stay only at one wall. You'll want to minimize your time walking. Even if at your wall there are no blue streams flowing at the wall next to you has multiple blue streams, you probably still want to stay at your spot because of the erratic nature of the streams. For all you know, at your wall a blue stream might reoccur just a second as you left for the other wall, and at the other wall you're going to all blue streams may disappear. You usually never have to wait long for another blue stream to reappear at your wall, so don't walk in between walls; It's lost time.
Both hands must be free in order to hold the bowl (No weapon or shield).
The game relies heavily on your Quest Points. The more Quest points you have the longer you can collect tears and therefore the more experience you get.
Juna will not let a player in if it has been less than 1 week since the last time. However, entrance may be gained if a player tries within 1 hour before the 1 week time limit (167 hours instead of 168 hours).
Use the Quest Journal of the interface and select Tears of Guthix to find out how many days and how many quest points or experience points are needed before being allowed to collect tears. By talking to Juna, it is possible to toggle alerts upon logging in whenever you are eligible to play this minigame again.
After the minigame is complete, the player receives experience based on the number of tears collected to their lowest skill. If the player has multiple skills at the same level, the reward will go to the skill with the least amount of experience. If both skills have the same amount of experience, it will go to the first listed one. For example if both Runecrafting and Hunter are 0xp, the experience will go to Runecrafting.
The amount of experience per tear increases as the players level increases (For example: 10xp is given per tear if the lowest level is 1, and 26.6xp is given per tear if your lowest level is 20), until they reach level 30. Once level 30 is reached, the player receives 60 experience for each tear.
The Hard Lumbridge Diary reward gives 10% more experience.
Players receive a message which indicates the skill they received experience for.
