Uncut red topaz detail

Uncut red topaz is a type of semi-precious gem. It can be either obtained using the Mining skill from Shilo Village's gem rocks, a random gem rock during the Tai Bwo Wannai Cleanup minigame, a possible reward from the Gnome Restaurant minigame, stealing from Dorgesh-Kaan Rich Chests or buying it off another player.

Red topaz can be cut with a chisel by a player with 16 Crafting although there is a high chance that the player will accidentally crush it. Successfully cutting a red topaz grants to player 25 Crafting experience, but if they crush the gem they will receive only 6.3 Crafting experience.

Red topaz is used in the creation of jewellery, and can be cut into red topaz bolt tips for use in creating red topaz bolts.

Cut red topaz may be sold to Gabooty's Tai Bwo Wannai Cooperative for 120 trading sticks, while uncut may be sold for 24.

The gem is also used to create a Red topaz machete, which fulfills a medium Karamja Task.

At level 80 Crafting there is roughly a 17% chance that the red topaz will be accidentally crushed (in a test with 335 out of a sample of 2000 gems being crushed, another test with 1843 out of a sample of 10593 gems being crushed).

At level 85 Crafting there is roughly a 14% chance that the red topaz will be accidentally crushed (in a test with 697 out of a sample of 5000 gems being crushed).

At level 95 Crafting there is a roughly 8.6% chance that the red topaz will be accidentally crushed (in a test with 1339 out of a sample of 15114 gems being crushed, another test with 3211 out of a sample of 37,498 gems being crushed).

At level 97 Crafting there is roughly a 7.7% chance that the red topaz will be accidentally crushed (in a test with 154 out of a sample of 2000 gems being crushed).

At level 99 Crafting there is roughly a 4.8% chance that the red topaz will be accidentally crushed (in a test with 42 out of a sample of 874 being crushed, would be best to assume 5% on a larger scale).
