Waterfiends can be found in the Ancient Cavern which is found underneath the Baxtorian Falls and can also be found in the Stronghold Slayer Cave. Players can enter the Ancient Cavern by diving in to the whirlpool found south of the Barbarian Outpost. Waterfiends are very resistant to most forms of attacks, excluding crush, so it is recommended to bring a crush weapon, ideally a Saradomin sword, abyssal bludgeon, Zamorakian spear, or Zamorakian hasta.
They use both magic and ranged attacks, however their ranged attacks are magical ranged. Therefore it is better to wear high magic defence gear, such as dragonhide armour or Karil the Tainted's equipment and use the Protect from Missiles Prayer. Higher magic level will help, as magic level is 70% of your magic defence, which can significantly help and prolong trips.
Waterfiends can be rarely assigned by Duradel.
